Witch Doctor Tacke pro-Mike Surman rallied back from a dismal day one of the Toyota Series Lake Okeechobee event last week, increasing his weight from 10 lb 10 oz on day one, to bringing in the second biggest limit on day two with a weight of 17 lb 1 oz. Going out on the third and final day, Mike caught a similar limit weighing in at 17 lb 10 oz, his three-day total of 45 lb 4 oz ended him in 4th place.
Mike caught fish on a variety of baits and Witch Doctor Tackle rods. One was a Gambler Burner Worm, with a 3/16 oz weight and the new Witch Doctor Tackle Pandemic 7’6” medium heavy rod. Mike also fished a Gambler Ninja Spin spinnerbait on the 6’10” medium heavy Surman 50G rod. My other bait of choice was a 1/2 oz ChatterBait and I fished that on the Kahuna 7’4” Heavy rod. “I love these rods and always make sure that the rod’s action meets the conditions of whatever I’m facing,” said Mike.
